Beautiful forest hiking trail

The Big tree is situated 61.3 km from Mount Castleton, along South Africa’s Garden Route.

Standing tall at 36.6 meters with a circumference of nearly 9 meters, the Yellowwood tree is a remarkable sight.

This Yellowwood has become an iconic attraction in the native forests of Wilderness. Its expansive crown remains a favored nesting spot for various species. The fruit of the tree provides nourishment to bats, bush pigs, and beautiful avian creatures like the Knysna Turaco and Cape Parrot.
